Yellow Travel, a leading provider of Birmingham Airport transfers to the people of the West Midlands, has congratulated the Blue Air airline on its new service to Romania starting later this year.
It is a meeting of second cities as this new route connects Birmingham with Cluj in Northwestern Romania with a population of 325,000 people. We are delighted to be serving passengers with Birmingham Airport taxis for the 3 times weekly flights. This is in addition to the Bucharest service from the airline which only launched in March of this year. This success of this route will be expanded from 2 to 3 flights per week from Winter 2016.
“We are extremely pleased to announce our second route to Birmingham starting in December this year, as we expand the network from our newest base at Cluj-Napoca,” commented, Tudor Constantinescu, Chief Commercial Officer, Blue Air. “The growth of tourism and trade between the U.K. and Romania, and especially Cluj-Napoca which recently has rapidly been emerging, means we have no doubt that this new route will be another success. Cluj is a charming city situated in the heart of Transylvania and the central point for 7 nearby cities.”
A 189 seater Boeing 737-800 plane will travel to Cluj each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from December this year.
“Blue Air has had a very successful few months at Birmingham Airport flying thousands of passengers to and from the Romanian capital city of Bucharest,” noted, Tom Screen, Head of Aviation Development, Birmingham Airport. “We are delighted that they are already introducing this second route to Cluj. The city is a cultural and historic centre home to universities, vibrant nightlife and landmarks dating to Saxon and Hungarian rule.”
